rsn – dilatation #1

Dilation describes the expansion of a material due to heat or force, which is reflected in the song. Because the basis of “dilatation #1.1” is standing drone surfaces that expand and enlarge. On top of this are swells with various sounds that drive the expansion forward. This expansion is not linear but has a very brief moment of eruption, which then levels out and finally disappears in a kind of dissolution. These bass pads are mostly dull and gloomy but always have some brighter moments. The final dissolution has the effect of a sound glow, a scattering of sounds. “dilatation #1.1” thrives on layering, on the climax, and on the disappearance.
