A Distant Shore – Late Night

“This EP was born from a series of improvisations made on the day of Ferlinghetti’s death, who as a publisher was a significant figure in mid-20th-century American literature. Touched by this loss, I recorded a lot of inspired material, and now, with the right emotional distance, I have structured the track.

The constant drone represents the river of thoughts that flow incessantly in the evening when you stop doing something and find yourself lying in bed in the dark.

In the past, I played in various noise and doom-core bands. After a long hiatus, I decided to release my stories, my inner landscapes, all the things I feel but cannot express in everyday life. So, I started at the end of 2019, and with the lockdown period due to Covid, I began to improvise without setting any limits. After many sessions and listening back to myself, I realized that the material needed to be divided into different projects: one noise, one dark-ambient, and one ambient-drone, reflecting the three main parts of myself. I started participating in compilations for friends’ labels and continued releasing on Neotantra Records, Tiny Drones For Lovers, Spettro Rec, and Drone Works International. This project, unlike the previous ones, frees itself from structures, rhythms, and loops, diving into improvisations with a Danelettro DC-12, and/or a Dark Energy synth and a pedalboard. The result is then re-listened to, layered, and cleaned up on the computer.” A DISTANT SHORE
