A Million Burning Suns – Music for Carnivorous Plants

The first noises resonate like a call. A distant, obscure echo. And it is in a forgotten garden, overgrown with thorns, that a walker attracted by these bewitching sounds might discover, at the bend of a barely visible path, a patch of strange plants. Tall, brightly coloured, moist flowers that undulate imperceptibly… They seem to be waiting for the curious, who may be tempted to listen a little too closely.

John Sellekaers (Xingu Hill, Meeple, Night Sky Pulse) and Ivan Knipping (With Skulls Drawn On It!) present Music for Carnivorous Plants, their first album together under the name A Million Burning Suns. When listened to, dissonance stirs the senses and invites you on an intoxicating journey.

Since 1995, John has been releasing albums under various aliases on labels such as Glacial Movements, Falt, See Blue Audio, Subexotic Records, Parenthèses Records and Ant-Zen.

Ivan is a self-taught sound experimenter and architect. He lives and works in Brussels. He has 2 albums and 1 EP to his credit, released on Vivarium Recordings, Off Record and Adventurous Music.

This album also comes as a postcard set including art by Corina Retzlaff.
